Thailand for farang

General info

floating Uthai Thani was my mother’s hometown and since 2014 my hometown. It is a province in the lower North of Thailand. Uthai Thani does not see many tourists. There’s a few passing through sometimes, mostly cycling, because Uthai Thani offers many beautiful sights.

There aren’t too many hotels, but there are quite a few resorts and home stays.

Uthai Thani attractions mostly Thai tourists. Wat tha sung is very popular among Thai people. Uthai Thani is the most famous for Tak Bat Devo, a celebration after the end of Lent when all the monks descend from the stairs of Wat Sangkat Rattana Khiri.

Uthai Thani is well known for it’s slow life. It’s an authentic, unsoiled, quiet, beautiful province in Thailand. The people are relaxed and genuinly friendly. They like it when farangs show interest in their town and how they live. They are proud of their of the authentic way of living, their habits and their town. The daily market is still an authentic fresh market, where salesman and saleswoman sell their fresh food everyday. There is no malls, no grocery stores, everything is still like the old days.

There are a lot of things to see in Uthai Thani, but as a foreigner it’s not easy to find it online because of the language barrier. That is one of the reasons way I write this blog.

If you’re wondering what to do in Uthai Thani, check out the attractions and food and drinks I’ve posted. Feel free to scontact me if you have more questions.
