Chiang Mai
Chiang Mai is the second-largest province in the north of Thailand. It is bordered by Chiang Rai, Lampang, Lamphun, Tak, Mae Hong Son and Burma.
Chiang Mai province is located about 700 km to the north west of Bangkok.
The highest mountain in Thailand, Doi Inthanon at 2,565 metres, is located in Chiang Mai.
In my opinion Chiang Mai is one of the touristic city where you don’t have that typical touristic city feeling. It’s not that overcrowded although there are many foreigners not only tourists, but also a lot of expats.
