Nakhon Sawan

Nakhon Sawan is a province in the central part of Thailand.

It borders Uthai Thani, Phetchabun, Chainat Kamphaeng Phet, Phichit, Lopburi, Singburi and Tak.

Nakhon Sawan is located about 240 km north of Bangkok.

Nakhon Sawan is famous for Bueng Boraphet. It is the largest swamp in Thailand. Bueng Boraphet covers 212 km².

Famous festivities in Nakhon Sawan are Chao Pho-Chao Mae Pak Nam Pho Procession Festival (Festival for Thai with Chinese origine or Chinese living in Thailand, celebrated on Chinese New Year) and the Boat Races for His Majesty’s Trophy (celebrated at the end of the Buddhist Lent on the Chao Phraya River).

Nakhon Sawan is the province I go to if I want to go to a mall instead of going to the fresh market in Uthai Thani. Or if I need more western ingredients which I can’t buy in Uthai Thani. Or if I want to eat pizza, sushi, … anything not Thai.
