The passing of King Bhumibol
13 October is a public holiday in Thailand (when the actual date of the holiday falls on a weekend, a substitute day will be granted on the monday after). It is the memorial day of King Bhumibol. King Chulalongkorn also known as Rama IX passed away on 13 October 2016.
King Rama IX was the longest reigning king of the world. He is still considered the Father of the Thai country.
On this day there will be no alcohol sales.
