Benny's Café & Restaurant

bennys-banner I’ve been to Benny’s Café & Restaurant a few times now and it has always been a pleasure. It’s so nice to not have to go all the way to Bangkok to go to a place like this. It’s about 30 km from Uthai Thani, not even in Nakhon Sawan centre.

At first I thought it was a bakery because of the cupcake sign outside, but it looked like a nice clean place so I wanted to try it anyway.

The first time my husband and I went there we were perplexed. They had so much Belgian beers (and other origin), we couldn’t believe what we were seeing. There has been this amazing bar where there are more than 150 kinds of beer so close to home all the time? It took us a while to calm down, and have a Belgian beer of course!

After enjoying our beer I had to try some dishes. The menu was only in Thai but the pictures looked promising. There were 2 dishes that got my attention right away. It was something wrapped in bacon and french fries (of course…I’m Belgian).

The bacon dish was Banana Chili Peppers (the lime green thin peppers) stuffed with cheese, wrapped in bacon, sprinkled with honey and black pepper. Makes you want to drool doesn’t it? The french fries were topped with lemongrass, shallots, parmesan cheese, sea salt and fresh chili pepper. It was both very good! Those french fries have exactly become my favorite Thai style of french fries.

The food is great, the variety of beverages is awesome and the place is cute, spacious and clean too. It’s fun how they used different kinds of furniture. And I love how spacious it is. In most Thai restaurants or bars you are packed like sardines.

As it is not located in the city centre, but at the side of the motorway it is very clever of them to make a big parking at the back of this restaurant. On the parking they made an impressive beerwall. Yes, you’ve probably seen one before, but keep in mind this is central Thailand, this amount of different beers is not very common here.

As I like everything about Benny’s, I invited some friends, who are Teaching English in Uthai Thani, to join us. The only thing I’m still missing at Benny’s is a taxi service. One of us always has to be the designated driver, which sucks when you visit beer heaven!
