Mays Urban Thai Dine

May's-banner2 Mays used to be next to the colosseum, but they moved to Thepprasit Road in Jomtien. It used to be in a bamboo hut, which used to have this urban feel about it.

If you expect to eat authentic Thai food, you will be disappointed. They serve urban refined Thai street food. Living in Thailand , I am happy to have food with a refined touch.

Arriving there we’ve immediately tested their friendliness by switching tables about 3 times. It wasn’t really our intention to test it, but as the lady who pointed us at our tables stayed as friendly as she was from the beginning, we knew it would be a pleasant night. Once seated we received a complimentary refreshing drink and a heated scented towel and a complimentary amuse-bouche larb gai.

Their appetizers were good and nice presented. We could immediately taste the difference with authentic Thai food, but we liked their version of it.

The side dishes we ordered were all delicious. My favorite was their version of tom kha gai. It was less sour and very creamy.

We had a great time. The food was delicious, the service was friendly, the cocktails were good and the price was fair. If you like to try a different approach to Thai food, you should definitely try Mays Urban Thai Dine.
